Job Context

• TechHack Canada is seeking a highly qualified front-end developer that can play both roles (Designer & Developer) and has experience in react.js
• We firmly believe that UX is one of the most important factors of its success.
• The ideal candidate is someone who can turn ideas into intuitive and easy-to-use applications. You will be involved in the entire process of design and development including workflows and wireframes, usability and function. You will be required to design the UX/UI for native mobile applications as well as responsive web applications.

Job Responsibilities

• AS A FRONT-END DEVELOPER YOU WILL:
• Develop new user-facing features using React.js
• Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
• Design wireframes, mockups, screens, and workflows for user stories and technical development.
• Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code.
• Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
• Under take project-specific Proof of Concepts activities to validate technical feasibility
• Regular contribution of design-based memes to our #random Cliq channel;
• SKILLS NEEDED:
• Excellent experience in Frontend Development with hand on development in HTML5/CSS3 and Object oriented Java Script and DOM.
• Knowledge of JavaScript packages, package managers, bundlers, and their use in building complex interactive experiences. Experience using CSS grids and building responsive websites with scalability in mind
• Experience with popular React.js workflows such as Redux, its core principles and styled components.
• Ability to cut necessary visual assets from PhotoShop and/or Sketch files, and optimize them appropriately.
• Experienced in modern dev tools, process and methodologies like TDD, Unit Testing & Functional testing using Mocha, Chai, Jest or other frameworks.
• Proficiency in software relevant to app design - Sketch, Invision Studio, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator
• NITE TO HAVES:
• Experience creating motion graphics or animations is an asset
• Experience with 3D modelling software is an asset
